You don't have to have it all together.

Our imperfections honor our humanity.

In a world that often demands nothing less than perfection from Black women, it's time we pause and reflect on the toll this takes on our well-being. The pressure to be flawless in our careers, relationships, and personal lives can lead us down a path of exhaustion. Today, I’m here to remind you that your worth isn't measured by your productivity or how well you meet others' expectations.

It's time to embrace the beauty of imperfection and honor who you truly are.

Perfectionism, for many of us, has been a shield – a way to prove our worth in spaces that weren't designed for us. But this relentless pursuit of flawlessness comes at a cost. It fuels anxiety, breeds self-doubt, and ultimately leads to burnout.

Recognize that your value isn't diminished by mistakes or "imperfections." Instead, view these as opportunities for growth and self-compassion.

Breaking free from the cycle of perfectionism and burnout starts with small, intentional steps. Set boundaries unapologetically, prioritize self-care without guilt, and celebrate your progress, no matter how small. Embrace the power of "good enough" and watch as you break free from the standards and expectations of others that box you in.

In this last week’s livestream of Moving Beyond Burnout, I have a special guest, L’Oreal Thompson- Payton an award-winning journalist and author of Stop Waiting for Perfect to discuss how to overcome perfectionism to beat burnout.
