Passion and Purpose: How Women Can Do Good & Lead Well

Women possess a special gift that can be attributed to nature, nurture, or both, which is the ability to care for others. With this gift, some individuals choose to pursue work and interests that have a purpose of caring for others and making the world a better place. As a 3rd generation helping professional. I come from a long line of women who served their communities, chose work that would heal others, and inspired the current and next generation to be their best. Along with this lineage, I noticed that other women around me found their spark when supporting and helping others, too. It was a spoken and unspoken collective vision to do what we loved and to make a difference.

In sectors such as non-profit, government, healthcare, and education, I particularly see this passion and purpose-driven spirit amongst women. Their dedication to their work is incomparable, and without it, our society would look very different. As I progressed in my career in the non-profit and mental healthcare sector, I experienced some passion and energy chip away from the demands and weight of serving others.

What was once a motivation to make a difference felt like a weight or burden. Ironically, these sectors can experience the highest rates of burnout, compassion fatigue, turnover and women leaving their field of work altogether. What I have learned from my own experience and witnessing the experiences of other women is that we should not have to let our sparks fade. I believe we can find a way to do what we are passionate about, take care of ourselves, and be optimistic about the possibilities of a better tomorrow.

On Wednesday, February 18th, I’ll be leading my first virtual quarterly workshop, Passion & Purpose: For Women Who Want to Do Good and Lead Well. In Passion and Purpose, you will:

  • Journey back to the moment you chose this path. Reconnect with the passion and purpose that first called you to serve and lead.

  • Uncover leadership styles and practices that energize rather than deplete you. Learn approaches that honor both your impact and your well-being.

  • Understand the cycle of compassion fatigue and discover practical strategies to protect your passion while still showing up powerfully for others.

This workshop is for women in the public sector to discuss the challenges that face the field and the wellness solutions that can leave you invigorated and re-committed to your purpose.

I’d love you to join me for this powerful hour of reflection, discovery, and renewal on Wed. February 18th at 6:30 PM, CT
