Embracing Mental Wellness as a High-Achieving Woman
What I wish I could tell my younger self is that success is not about how much you can achieve; it is about the experience you embody along the way. In my college and early career, I believed that being successful meant working hard, being the best, and always challenging myself. There were mentors, peers, and family who rewarded me for achieving any goal or accolade, no matter how big or small.
While I was achieving, there was no discussion about my mental wellness as I was on my career journey. The presumption was that grinding and hustling to get to a certain place would allow me the luxury to take care of myself - eventually. Like many women, I learned the hard way that success means nothing when you are experiencing burnout, poor physical health, and mental distress. It actually makes the experience of achievement feel like you're in a cycle or trap of accomplishing a goal while your mental health diminishes.
I am happy to see that women are starting to realize that their wellness matters just as much or even more than career success. It is refreshing to enter so many spaces where women are actively discussing rest, self-care, work-life balance, and fulfillment beyond what they can achieve. When you embrace your mental wellness as you achieve, you create this enhanced experience of witnessing how caring for yourself is the greatest reward as you actualize your dreams.
I recently moderated a panel focused on mental wellness for high-achieving women to dive deeper into this topic. The inspiring panelists, Aymber, Tasha, and Kaivona shared their experiences with caring for their mental wellness as women in corporate America.
If you’re a high-achieving woman who is ready to break free from burnout and enter 2026 with clarity and alignment in wellness and work, I’d love to work with you.
