The Future of Leadership is Health-oriented
Currently, leadership in our society is in a crisis. Our world is changing rapidly with new issues that require a shift to lead differently. Some of the previous ways of leading are being stretched in this current season. In this livestream, I discuss a new way of leading that will sustain us for the next generation.
Why Relationships Still Matter in Work and Wellness
This national focus on loneliness revealed something deeper: how normalized, and even complacent our society has become with individualism, often at the expense of cultivating real relationships in real time. Being without relationships — family, friends, colleagues carries a high cost to our personal wellness, creating a burden that stresses our bodies and our systems.
Don’t Rush: The Wisdom Of Moving At Your Own Pace
The demands of my life and what I witness in those I commune with are heavier while also feeling delicate. This has especially rang true over the past year, where stressors are increasing rapidly for many. Rising costs, sociopolitical instability, and collective exhaustion are on constant replay each day. For me at least, it feels like a break is needed - but the urgency of the times delays the intuitive nudging to slow down. To be in a bind where the body is signaling one thing but the lived reality is demanding another is a tension that I witness others grappling with.
The Pressure to Stay “Strong”: Black Women and Economic Burnout
Black women are waymakers. If there is no opportunity available, we create it. We know how to ‘stretch money’ in hard times and ‘make a dollar out of 15 cents’ if there aren’t enough resources. While this has been a part of Black women’s brilliance and tenacity, it can be a challenge to continue these practices for the long-term, especially in the face of insurmountable obstacles.
How to experience fulfillment through work-life alignment
Are you feeling out of sync with how your life is going right now? You are not alone. Many women feel like they are going through the motions of life, feel unfulfilled, and disconnected from their why.
Passion and Purpose: How Women Can Do Good & Lead Well
Women possess a special gift that can be attributed to nature, nurture, or both, which is the ability to care for others. With this gift, some individuals choose to pursue work and interests that have a purpose of caring for others and making the world a better place.
Embracing Mental Wellness as a High-Achieving Woman
What I wish I could tell my younger self is that success is not about how much you can achieve; it is about the experience you embody along the way. In my college and early career, I believed that being successful meant working hard, being the best, and always challenging myself. There were mentors, peers, and family who rewarded me for achieving any goal or accolade, no matter how big or small.
While I was achieving, there was no discussion about my mental wellness as I was on my career journey.
